Silicon carbide ceramic matrix composites (SiC) emerged as the largest product segment in terms of demand and accounted for 35.24% of market share by volume in 2018. The segment is expected grow significantly over the next seven years owing to the growing demand from aerospace appliions.
Under compression, on the contrary, the addition of silicon carbide degraded plastic properties. As a result, the percentage compression before cracking was 28.4% and 57.9% for the compacted materials with and without addition of silicon carbide, respectively.

In this paper aluminium silicon carbide in the proven composition 25 % Silicon Carbide and 75 % Aluminium has casted by using stir casting process as per standard dimensions (ASTM E399). With the same dimension aluminium silicon carbide composite with added carbon nanotubes were also casted in the ratio 0.2 % multi walled Carbon Nanotube, 24.8 % Silicon Carbide and 75 % Aluminium.
